Afterschool Club
At Moneynick Primary School we provide an Afterschool Club that is lots of fun and very popular. Club lasts from 2:00pm-4:00pm for Primary 1-2 pupils and from 3:00pm-4:00pm for Primary 3-7 pupils. Club is provided every day except occasional half day staff training days and school holidays.
There are a range of activities time-tabled each month ranging from cookery and monkey-bars, to planting and arts & crafts. Throughout the year we also invite visitors to provide workshops and sports facilitators to run coaching sessions. This year Skills School NI visited and many of our pupils attended each week for exciting new activities such as archery and nerf-gun battles.
In December the Annual Popcorn Party is hosted by the Afterschool Club where pupils enjoy a range of activities such as sports, crafts and games, are provided with dinner and watch a movie until 6.00pm. Weather permitting our Afterschool Club often endeavours to take advantage of our wonderful outdoor facilities; our tarmac and grass pitches, outdoor play equipment, trikes, mud kitchen, new play-house and much more. During ‘Club Thursdays’ our pupils travel on the bus to Erin’s Own GAC Cargin to take part in afterschool activities such as handball, rounders and cross country running. We appreciate and promote our valuable link with one of our local Gaelic Athletic clubs and our pupils love visiting their facilities.
Our wrap around care provision also provides an Annual Summer Scheme for our pupils and the pupils from our Shared Education partner, Duneane Primary School. Our Summer Scheme 2024 was an outstanding success, a great way to begin the summer vacation.
