We had amazing fun exploring the snow and ice in our school grounds, searching for footprints in the white blanket we looked for wildlife both high and low.  Looking at the properties of ice and snow we had the opportunity to discuss water safety during winter months, and how we should act near frozen rivers and lakes. Using fresh snow we created a polar scene and discussed how our actions are changing the landscape and habitat for the animals who live in the polar regions. As the heat inside started to melt the snow we observed how water can change format and how it can change the life of our birds and beasts.
