❤️Heartstart❤️
The preventative curriculum is an important part of our School Development Plan and provides our pupils with age appropriate lessons to enhance their Personal Development and Mutual Understanding (PDMU)
Pupils in Primary 1-3 have been learning how to make an emergency call. Primary 4-5 have progressed to emergency First Aid. Today they were learning what to do if someone was choking and how to place a patient into the recovery position. Primary 6-7 have been working on basic CPR demonstrating how to implement DR ABC Danger, Response, Airways, Breathing and Circulation. CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It combines chest compressions and rescue breaths to give a person the best chance of survival following a cardiac arrest.
Teaching the Heartstart programme ensures our children are ready for emergency situations and provides them with essential life skills. #❤️❤️❤️❤️
