Rural Schools Award

Schools set in rural locations have the opportunity to take part in a new initiative as part of the Sustrans Active School Travel Programme.  The Rural Schools Award helps raise awareness of the benefits of active travel; helping pupils' understanding of road safety; developing practical skills such as cycling training; as well as giving opportunities for the school community to get active, for e.g. participation in the Daily Mile. With the support of our Active Travel Officer, we worked together to prepare the school community to make active journeys and build confidence and in doing so we have achieved our Sustrans Silver Award.
