Moneynick Primary School, Randalstown

Parish of Duneane

Moneynick Primary School is a central school in the Parish of Duneane. Our Parish is home to three reverent churches; Sacred Heart Church Cargin, St. Oliver Plunkett's Toome and Our Lady of Lourdes Moneyglass. As a school we celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation in our Parish Church and we contribute to youth masses throughout the year to embed the spiritual development of our pupils. Our Catholic Ethos is visible in our School through the presence of our altar devoted to Mary, sacred garden, school masses and our daily interactions. Our Primary 7 class form our pastoral council, a role which aids their preparation for their sacrament of Confirmation and allows them to uphold the strong catholic ethos and values taught within our school and Parish.

Moneynick Primary School were delighted to learn that we were awarded with Distinction 'The Spirit of Catholic Education Award' 2022-23. The award was given in recognition of our school's outstanding commitment to Social Justice and Respect for the Environment. A big thank you to all our hard working pupils, staff and parents and school community. Representatives from the school attended the award ceremony at Saint Mary's University College in January 2023.

Each year we celebrate Catholic Schools' Week when we celebrate our grandparents through our annual Grandparents Day Mass which is led by Our Parish Priest Father James O’Reilly.

Moneynick Primary School achieved with distinction 'The Spirit Of Catholic Education Award' 2023-2024 presented at Saint Mary's University College, Belfast, in January 2024. This award recognised our school's commitment to taking care of the environment, social justice and creation of a Sacred Community Garden. We are truly humbled at achieving the award two years in a row and we thank and appreciate the hard work of our pupils, teachers, school members and entire school community.

An outstanding achievement to receive 'The Spirit of Catholic Education Award 2024-2025' for the third year. Representative from the school travelled to Saint Mary's University College Belfast to receive this prestigious award for the pastoral care provided to our school family each day. We live and share our Christian values extending the hand of Christ to our families, friends and entire school community.
